I have been on the lookout for a used 8″ jointer for the past 6 months or longer. All of a sudden I had one fall into my lap. (Figuratively, so I was fine). The jointer was in great shape and only needed some light surface rust removed and just a general cleaning. I had three items to update on the jointer: Replace knives with a spiral (helical) cutter head, longer power cord, and 6″ dust collection.

Simple looking bench

A while ago, I accidentally cracked this cheap shoe shelf thing in our laundry room. Not enough to ruin it, but I head it “give” a bit. I decided to build a new one that I could sit on. Since the location of the shoe shelf is the spot where I put on my shoes or boots before heading into the garage or outside to do lawn work.

Making a PLant Stand

I was asked to create a small two tier plant stand. You may be asking yourself: “what the heck is a plant stand, and why would anyone want one”. To be hones, this one is purely decorative in nature. The plant will reside on a table/dresser and instead of sitting directly on the surface it will be elevated slightly.
