I recently had the opportunity to build a media console that finished off a client’s living room. The media console sits below a wall-mounted TV and will hold all the electronics, pictures, chotchkies(sp?), etc.

Doggie Bench

Jointer Upgrades
I have been on the lookout for a used 8″ jointer for the past 6 months or longer. All of a sudden I had one fall into my lap. (Figuratively, so I was fine). The jointer was in great shape and only needed some light surface rust removed and just a general cleaning. I had three items to update on the jointer: Replace knives with a spiral (helical) cutter head, longer power cord, and 6″ dust collection.

Platform bed Frame with storage
I set out to replace a simple bed frame (from Ikea) with something more visually appealing and something that will add more storage. After some time sketching ideas and figuring things out, here is bed frame with storage I came up with.

Splayed and shaped bench
I was asked to create a small bench (seat) for an entryway. The house is a split-level and needed something by the front door, but it couldn’t be too large else it would take up valuable space. So, that is where custom furniture comes in.

Flat Pack coffee table
I set out to make two coffee tables. To make it easier on a perspective buyer, I wanted to make the tables easy to transport and assemble. If it came down to it, I could even ship the tables in a low profile crate or box.

Simple looking bench
A while ago, I accidentally cracked this cheap shoe shelf thing in our laundry room. Not enough to ruin it, but I head it “give” a bit. I decided to build a new one that I could sit on. Since the location of the shoe shelf is the spot where I put on my shoes or boots before heading into the garage or outside to do lawn work.

Making a PLant Stand
I was asked to create a small two tier plant stand. You may be asking yourself: “what the heck is a plant stand, and why would anyone want one”. To be hones, this one is purely decorative in nature. The plant will reside on a table/dresser and instead of sitting directly on the surface it will be elevated slightly.
