Creating Picture Frames

After a year or two of projects, I had a fair amount of scrap wood sitting in the corner of my shop. So, I figured it was a good time to use it up while I was in between other larger projects. I used some on a cutting board, but the rest was slated for picture frames. I have been wanting to frame an old worn out plot of our house that the previous owner had marked up with the landscape design.

Creating Epoxy Inlay Art

I set out to make some gifts based on an Idea from my wife and then coupled that with a bit of Instagram inspiration.  The plan is to inlay a design based on the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter.  I originally planned to actually cut the design out, but that was going to prove challenging.  Here is a photo of my finished prototype that I made from poplar.  Once I figured I could actually do this properly I set out to make a few more.  The finished art is about 7 1/2″ wide by 7 1/2″ tall

Making a Dog Kennel Entertainment Stand

I was inspired by a few pictures I found online that had furniture pieces made that doubled as dog kennels.  Our dog kennel is just sitting in our dining room.  Luckily we have small dogs, so it doesn’t need to be a very large space for the dogs.  My wife and I talked and we decided to replace our current entertainment stand with a dog kennel entertainment stand.  The following post outlines the entire build.
